Any woman in Lancashire is welcome to attend any group

Saturday Social and Creative Group;

2nd Saturday of the month‚ 1pm-4pm at the Connolly Centre.

Arts and crafts in a safe and informal environment where women have the opportunity to be creative‚ meet new friends and build on their self-confidence over plenty of tea and biscuits! No need to book places‚ just turn up.

Writing Circle;

1st Monday of the month‚ 7pm-8.30pm at the Connolly Centre.

This group is for women with experience of Creative Writing. Learn new skills‚ build confidence and meet new people‚ in a supportive environment.

Preston Women's Book Club;

2nd Wednesday of the month‚ 7.30pm-8.30pm at the Connolly Centre.

The aim of the group is to use reading as a method of relaxation and interest‚ whilst improving concentration and confidence in reading. Every month the same book is lent to all members and is discussed the month after‚ over refreshments. Laura who is a qualified Librarian facilitates this group. We welcome all women‚ regardless of how much they have read in the past. No need to book places‚ just turn up. Refreshments are provided.

Depression Support Group;

Every Thursday 1pm--2.30pm, at the 1--5 Carr Street.

(No session the 25th of December and the 1st of January)

The group is organised by women who have personal experience of depression and attend the group. It is not a therapy group but a self-help group where you can meet those in similar situations in a friendly and supportive environment. The group has a loose structure that involves discussing how the week has been and an achievable aim for the week‚ learning about alternative ways of coping‚ expressing our creativity side and working on our self-esteem by challenging negative thoughts. On occasions the group goes out for the afternoon. Refreshments are provided.

'pause' Support Group;

Once a month on a Tuesday between 6.30pm-8.30pm at United Reformed Church.

A space for women who are affected by the symptoms and issues surrounding the menopause‚ to share their experiences and knowledge of the different stages and to find coping strategies so they are able to feel less isolated with this stage in every womena's life.

This group is organised by women who want support and ideas to help them cope with the all the areas of the menopause‚ we are a self-help group where you can meet those who are in similar situations in a friendly and supportive environment.

Each month we will have a guest speaker on subject like‚ nutrition / diet‚ medical‚ homeopath‚ massage and relaxation and exercise etc. We will spend time each session sharing our thoughts‚ feelings and experiences. On occasions we will go out for the session. Refreshments are provided and we ask for members to kindly make a small donation each month to cover costs.
